He was an passionate man that changed the environmental history of Misiones. He sowed the net of protected areas, defended the indigenous cause as his own, and always felt as he were a real "misionero", bringing together under one goal to himself and to strangers.
It was Victoria Aguirre, who having heard of the Falls, reaches Rio Iguazu in 1901, and, unable to tie up her boat somewhere, she made it run aground that boat that brought her together with her friends and started to swim for get experience about this wonder of nature.
On his return to Buenos Aires, she decided to donate to Territorio Nacional's government, the sum of 3000 pesos to build the port that would take his name for more than forty years: Puerto Aguirre.
The main avenue that runs through Puerto Iguazu today bears her name, being considered the founder of the town, the "Woman who opened the way"
