He was an uruguayan writer and missionary by adoption, was the teacher of Latin American story, vivid prose, a naturalist and modernist.

His short stories have evolved to the realistic portrayal, often anguished and desperate, the wild nature that surrounds him in Misiones: the jungle, the river, wildlife, climate and terrain making up the set in which their characters move, suffer and often die.

Their house, their tools, their places of inspiration, his old motorcycle and also the table and typewriter, are still in San Ignacio, where he lived, suffered, dreamed and created his own world and its wonderful literature.
